Privacy policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
ScoutAisle is operated by Ryan Wood, operating as ScoutAisle, in the United States. This policy describes how we handle information when you visit scoutaisle.com, use our resale tools, connect a marketplace account, or contact us.
Your item photos and details can be sent to AI providers when you request AI features. Business records and saved checks remain stored for your history; disconnecting eBay does not erase them. For privacy questions or deletion requests, email hello@scoutaisle.com.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, optional business name, password hash, account status, preferences, and sign-in and recovery records. We store a password hash rather than your readable account password.
- Items and business records: photos, descriptions, notes, condition, lot contents, purchase sources, inventory, listing details, prices, sales, expenses, fees, shipping details, and financial summaries you provide or import.
- Price checks and AI activity: submitted item details, photo fingerprints, research evidence, estimates, generated text, saved results, related purchase records, and usage and cost records.
- Marketplace information: connected seller identifiers, username, permissions and authorization tokens; listing, order, buyer and shipment information made available through the features you use. This can include buyer usernames, names, delivery addresses, and tracking information.
- Billing and support: subscription and payment-status identifiers from our payment provider, and the messages or attachments you send us. When subscription checkout is available, payment details are entered with Stripe; our application does not collect your full card number or card security code.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser and request information, session cookies, security events, error logs, and service usage. Hosting and infrastructure providers may also process connection and access logs.
How we use information
We use information to operate accounts, identify and research items, prepare listings, track inventory and sales, calculate business summaries, provide exports, manage subscriptions and usage limits, deliver account messages, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems. We also use saved estimates and recorded outcomes to evaluate the reliability of the service.
Research evidence may be retained in a shared market-reference collection. That is distinct from your business inventory and transaction records. We do not make your private business records available to other customers through their accounts.
Connecting and disconnecting eBay
You sign in on eBay and choose whether to authorize the requested permissions. ScoutAisle does not ask for your eBay password. Depending on the permission you grant and the enabled features, we can identify your seller account, manage listings and listing photos, and read orders and shipments. Publishing listing details and photos makes them available on eBay.
Stored seller authorization tokens are encrypted. You can disconnect in ScoutAisle to remove its stored connection credentials. To withdraw the provider's authorization as well, remove ScoutAisle's access in your eBay third-party app settings. Existing inventory, sales, financial history and connection-ownership records are not automatically deleted by disconnecting.
We process verified eBay account-deletion and authorization-revocation notices. These are different from deleting your ScoutAisle business account. We may retain limited hashed identifiers and security records to prevent deleted or revoked credentials from being restored or reused.
AI features and service providers
When you request item research or AI assistance, relevant photos, item descriptions, notes, pricing context and other feature inputs may be sent to Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude. Research can use web-search grounding. Providers process those inputs to return research, estimates or draft text. Avoid including faces, addresses, shipping labels, passwords or other unnecessary personal information in item photos and notes.
Provider retention and use of inputs depend on the provider terms and the service configuration. This policy does not promise zero provider retention or that every provider excludes every input from model improvement.
Our service providers include:
- Render: application hosting and database services.
- Cloudflare: domain/network services, R2 photo and backup storage, and email routing.
- Google and Anthropic: AI research and generation where those features are used.
- Resend and Google/Gmail: account-email delivery and support correspondence.
- Stripe: subscription checkout and billing when enabled.
- eBay: the marketplace features you authorize.
If you give an optional assistant or connector a ScoutAisle API key, it can access the data and actions permitted by that key, including supported item details and sale recording. You can revoke that key in ScoutAisle. Information already received by an external service is also governed by that service's practices.
Service providers process information for their respective functions and may process it outside your state or country. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect people and the service from fraud or misuse.
Cookies and browser storage
ScoutAisle uses cookies for sign-in and request security. The installed web app can cache application assets, and some workflows use browser storage to preserve progress. Blocking cookies may prevent sign-in or other features from working. Clearing browser storage does not delete records stored on our servers.
How long information remains
Inventory, financial history and saved price checks are retained to support your business history, exports and service operation. Saved checks do not currently have a fixed automatic expiration. An estimate becoming outdated does not delete its historical record.
Retention varies by record type and operational need. We may retain information needed for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention, security or legal obligations after you stop using the service. Contact us to request removal of information that is no longer needed.
Backups are separate copies and may continue to contain information after it is removed from the active application. They are managed separately from active records; we do not promise that a deletion request instantly removes every backup copy. Deletion requests must also be considered when restoring data.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can edit supported account and item information, download available business exports, disconnect eBay, revoke connector keys, and choose whether to submit material to AI features.
To request access, correction, a copy of your information, or deletion, email hello@scoutaisle.com using your account email where possible. Describe your request without sending passwords or access tokens. We may need to verify your identity and authority over the business before acting. We will explain any information we must retain and handle requests in accordance with applicable law. Your rights depend on where you live.
Buyers whose information was provided through a seller's account can also contact us. Include enough order context to help locate the record, but do not send a full payment-card number. The seller and eBay may hold their own copies.
Security and children
We use controls such as account access restrictions, password hashing and encrypted stored eBay credentials. No online service or storage system can guarantee complete security.
ScoutAisle is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required.
